“Soccer is more than just an activity, it takes character, self-control, discipline and responsibility,” Tom Iffrig, Pattonville’s Varsity Girl’s soccer team coach, said this in an interview about the upcoming season.
He says he is very proud of his team and they have high expectations about winning state. “Most of the seniors goals are be State Champions, some of my personal goals are to beat St. Josephs or Marquette,” Iffrig said with a laugh.
He says the girls worked very hard during the off-season
“A lot of the girls do endurance, speed, and agility training. Some even go to select camps.”
Even Iffrig trained for the season. “I go to coaching clinics all over the country. I plan of receiving my National Coaching License this year.”
He proudly boasts about some of his returning seniors such as, Kailey Utley, Mikala McGhee, Kimmy Hulse, Kacie Hulse, and Aubrey Boulicault who are all signed to play collegiate sports or are making their final decision to take their talents to the next level.
