Jordan Wilkes is the starting inside linebacker and halfback for the 2-0 Pattonville varsity football team. Wilkes has had a good football career at Pattonville playing varsity since he was a freshman.

“Playing with upperclassmen my freshman year was good for me,” Wilkes said. “They taught me more and raised my level of play.”

Wilkes went from playing Junior Pirates football to playing an entirely different level of football with the varsity football team.

“It was challenging trying to adapt to an entirely different level of football, but we practiced a lot so it made it easier as time went on.”

Wilkes got to play with his big brother Lamar Wilkes for two years.

“Playing alongside my brother was pretty cool because I had someone to look up to and I was able to ask him questions at home,” Jordan Wilkes said.

Jordan Wilkes is now a junior and a key player on the team.

“The game has changed a lot since my freshman year,” Jordan Wilkes said. “It moves faster, but I am ready for it now that I have more experience.”

Jordan Wilkes has been a varsity football team member for three years but said this season is his favorite.

“We have played more as a team and playing at a higher level and winning.”
