Matthew Jacobi, Editor-In-Chief

Matthew is a senior and Editor-In-Chief of Pirate Press. In middle school, Matthew was a staff writer for Holman’s Pirate Times in 6th and 7th grade. Then he became Editor-In-Chief in 8th grade. He is now an Editor-In-Chief at PHS. He participated in a journalism summer conference through MediaNow in 2020, and currently is enrolled in the MediaNow Editor Training. He plays piano and cello, and also participates in Renaissance at English National Honors Society.

On Friday, March 4, Symphonic Orchestra directed by Mr. Rueschhoff took home an Exemplary rating after not having large group last year due to the pandemic. Mr. Rueschhoff, as his first year as the PHS Orchestra Director, said he was basically worried about everything. "I'm nothing if not an overthinker so I wanted to perfect every last detail," he said. "But in the end, it all worked out wonderfully."

As the St. Louis County mask mandate took effect, Pattonville postponed their mask-optional plan. Masks are required in all district buildings for the time being.

On Monday, January 3, 2022, Pattonville School District will move into a mask-optional environment for all students and staff in the district. This decision was made at the December 15 Board of Education meeting, where the board voted to move the district into a mask-optional status. Currently, all schools will remain mask-optional unless a positivity rate is above 2%.
