Bowling fundraiser held to help pay for league fees

In one frame during Crazy Bowl, bowlers had to throw a ball through the legs of another person.

Mid-America High School Travel League (North Conference) hosted a bowling fundraiser at Olympic Lanes on Sept. 17. The proceeds will go to any bowler from any of the schools in the North Conference who is not able to pay the fees to bowl.

Pattonville senior bowling team members Anthony Bell and Lauren Fisher went and helped show their appreciation to the league.

This fundraiser was a little different than normal. The first game was called Crazy Bowl and each frame, bowlers were instructed to throw the ball a different way to get it down the lane.

The second game was called Scotch Doubles where you bowl with a partner and basically take turns bowling.

Then the final game was called 9-pin no tap, and in this game, bowlers get to bowl how they normally do, but if someone bowls and leaves just one pin up on the first roll, it would also count as a strike.

Throughout the fundraiser, attendance prizes were given out and at the end of it, all baskets were given out to those who paid for a raffle ticket.

“My mom brought an Avon basket to help out and contribute to the raffles and to get rid of what we had at the house,” Bell said.

If a student from Pattonville wants to join the bowling club, practices are held on Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m. at Kingpin Lanes. There is plenty of room if anyone wants to join.
