The Pattonville football team took on the Hazelwood West Wildcats on Sept. 4 and won 55-14 improving to 3-0 on the young season.

Sophomore quarterback Kaleb Eleby had another standout performance going 10-for-21, throwing for 206 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

“It’s always good to win,” Eleby said. “3-0 is a good start and it’s a good chance to see where we are as a team. The most exciting part is we have yet to play our best.”

Eleby has already been recognized as a Player of the Week this season by KSDK NewsChannel 5 and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

As a team, the Pirates are ranked No. 9 in the STLhighschoolSPORTS.com large school rankings and No. 6 in the Missouri Class 5 statewide poll.

Individually, Eleby is ranked No. 1 on STLToday.com in the passing category.

“It’s an honor to be No. 1 in the St. Louis area,” Eleby said. “I don’t really pay attention to it too much. I’m just focused on the wins.”

The football team will next take on the Ritenour Huskies at home on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.

“You can expect an exciting game and a Pirate win.”
